#Elevation: Tank Reveals Cover Art & Release Date of New Album [Chris Brown, Keith Sweat, JoJo, Luke James Among Features]

Published: Thursday 19th Sep 2019 by Rashad

Tank enjoyed a resurgence of sorts thanks to his 2017 LP ‘Savage,’ which features the platinum hit, ‘When We’ (his first Hot 100 entry since 2007’s ‘Please Don’t Go’).

Looking to capitalize off the renewed interest, the R&B singer-songwriter has lifted the lid on news surrounding its follow-up, ‘Elevation.’  Arriving courtesy of Atlantic Records, the set – preceded by singles ‘I Don’t Think You’re Ready’ and the Chris Brown-assisted ‘Dirty’ – is scheduled to hit stores just a week after the crooner sets sail on the North American ‘Sketchbook’ tour with Grammy winning songstress Fantasia (click here to see dates).

Speaking on the new project, Tank said:

“This album is about going to the next level, rising to the occasion of success and giving my fans the best music I have to give,” he said.  “R&B is my legacy and in my veins…I want to lead the charge to bring it back to its rightful place at the top of the charts.”

His 9th studio album, the effort will feature appearances from Chris Brown, Keith Sweat, actor/poet Omari Hardwick, JoJo, Luke James, etc. in addition to production from the likes of J Valentine, Cardiak, Harmony, Doh Boy and more.

Check for ‘Elevation’ when it hits stores October 25th.

You obviously DO NOT listen to real music. You’re a fan of stars. Not a fan of music. Stay in your lane- Stan wars ☺️

Girl don’t try it. I was a fan of tank but his last few albums have been terrible. “When we” was his absolute worst song.

No shade but Tank is at the point where he needs to stop creating new music (like Janet, Madonna, Mariah, Nicki).

@Only Facts – what’s crazy is, Tank is more successful than he’s ever been. His audience loves it, so he has the winning formula. As for me, issa no but you be great Tank boo.

You should shut your trap with that foolishness. MC and Janet make great music.

Tank has a nice voice but the songs he sings lately are all suited for a younger singer in his 20s. No wonder he is 20 plus years into his career and just an opening act for Fantasia lol. He abandoned the signature R&B sound that made him popular. Songs like Maybe I Deserve from 20 years ago are what people want to hear from him…aka throwback thuggish R&B not wannabe Chris Brown music.

B****** want to hear him singing about f****** and eating p****. When We isn’t his most successful single for no reason. Tank is the uncle version of Trey Songz with vocal talent.

I like that song and radio ate that up. Vocally Tank is better than Chris Brown and whiney Trey Songz so if Tank makes more songs like that he will be successful. He is too seasoned to be opening for Fantasia. He should be headlining and having younger rnb singers open for him.

Dirty sounds like a throwaway track from Savage, which wasn’t his best work by the way. Most of his newer music has the same trap&b sound but if that’s what’s working for him these days….

Just for the Jojo duet alone, I’m so here for this. Tank is legendary and such a wonderful vocalist. The songs he wrote for Aaliyah, Jamie Fox, himself, Tyrese and countless others since the 90’s, speaks for itself. True artist.

    • Swirly September 19, 2019

I agree about him being a true artist, but cmon. His last few albums have been weak. I get it. Overtly sexual lyrics sang over trap/moody beats sells in 2019, but everything is sounding the same.

Tank is such a vocal beast but his music doesn’t really engage me. And I swear I’ve seen this album cover before ?

    • Lol September 19, 2019

You have lol. It looks like Trey Songz album cover

Finally someone who collabs with JOJO, a collaborator who believes in HER

  6. Lol September 19, 2019

The cover looks almost exactly like Trey’s cover for his last album but I like Tank so I’ll give it a listen.

    • Lmfao_Hoe September 19, 2019

If anything they both copied from one of Seals 90s album cover

  7. YAS BIH September 19, 2019

Idk about him anymore luv his old music but he seems too cocky and its hard to get into any of his new music for that so idc for him really but i’ll be waiting on Kim, Cardi, Keri, Brandy, Remy, Eve, Monica, Letoya luckett, Ashanti, Mya and more music from Ciara and Missy and anybody else from the Rnb, Rap 90s that’s coming back that’s it.

  9. Danny Bey September 19, 2019

It’s too similar to Trey Songz Trigga album cover from 2014. Is he paying homage?

  11. Vino September 20, 2019
